For centuries people have used God and Jesus as an excuse, as a justification, as a reason for unacceptable behavior. It is time to put a stop to that and ask the really tough question:

Would Jesus Discriminate? If you believe, the answer is a resounding NO! Then join us in sharing the truth of God's Love for everyone.

The Would Jesus Discriminate? Campaign is a highly effective  method of opening up dialogue with individuals who are practicing spiritual violence as a result of bigotry. Some of them are doing so consciously, but most are just following the example or message given to them by their parents and grandparents, pastors and Sunday school teachers. Some of us at St. John the Apostle, along with other MCC churches in the State of Florida believe we can help them change their minds. We want to change the policies and practices that hurt people we love and that hurt us.  We want the world to be a better and safer place for the next generation.

We live in an unfinished world; we have an unfinished calling; and we have the power to help us sustain and grow our ministry and movement on behalf of LGBT people throughout the world. We believe it is our job to ask the question, Would Jesus Discriminate? Until the world voices a resounding “NO”

A dedicated team has been formed to help bring this question to Southwest Florida. We will use many methods to keep you informed of our progress. But besides keeping you informed, we need you to be involved. We have much work to do before we have completed our goal. What is our goal? We want to have a series of films during a week of October that will be open to the public and end with a Town Hall meeting to help answer the question, “Would Jesus Discriminate?” Please keep checking our calendar and list of upcoming events.
